If the sum of these dice is greater than 4000 I will post my role PM in the thread, effectively inviting the host to modkill me immediately

I only have 20 dice. Shameful, I know!
2, 2, 7, 7, 7, 5, 5, 4, 3, 1, 1, 1, 5, 2, 2, 4, 4, 7, 1, 2
Why would it?
Survivor is basically a VT. His win condition is the same as town.
Survivor is basically an auto-lynch claim. Whomever said it was +EV to lynch survivor claim was right (old-school TOS players know this) I just didn't want to say anything at the time because I felt it would suck for JCrispy to die D1 in the last game and then die D1 in this game
You never want the survivor in the game near the end of the game because there's a chance he just votes with mafia to end the game
That said this all assumes JCrispy's claim was legit which it may not have been. I feel like the real survivor would not be stupid enough to claim his role Day 1 knowing there's a 50% chance town just takes that as a free lynch
A logical Survivor player would not want the game to get to a final 3/4. There's too many chances they would die on the way there.
A logical survivor player effectively adds +1 vote to the mafia team in their attempt to reach town parity in the case where they are winning and +1 to town otherwise. So it's like a snowball mechanic. Maybe we should lynch the survivor only if the first 2 lynches miss or something
Yes, it's a +1 vote to mafia only on LYLO (lynch or lose for newer players), otherwise it's a +1 vote for town.
Most days are not LYLO.
No it's +1 vote to mafia in the count to approach lylo
Example:
Normal game:
3maf 6 town - we have 2 lynches left
Survivor in game:
3maf 6"town" - 1 lynch and then survivor votes with mafia making it 4 maf
i stand by my vote for now but i will be upset if this thread gets 300 posts tomorrow night in an hour.
Mafia don't know who the survivor is. The reason I linked you the calculator is so you can calculate the chance mafia shoots the survivor with your hypothetical "optimal play".
As I said, survivor claim is equivalent to VT claims.
Everyone is survivor, in the same sense that everyone is a VT. VT's win condition is to not die as long as possible, and not get mafia kill.
When will you be back tomorrow?
i have a get together with my extended family (federal employees, some not all) on this federal holiday honoring the queens death. i don't know but i am not reading 900 posts on my phone cause 3 people are afk
PM me when you want to schedule Dota. I'll be working most of the day on the new game patch, but I'll have the time after.
Happy holidays.
yes i have a lot to think about after our previous game. i learn slowly so please bear with me, send jones my best. happy holidays
So in essence, claiming "Survivor" is a strictly pro-town move, which is why I am not lynching JCrispy for it. All VT's should claim survivor, but that fact means that they don't have to - it is implicit, induction if you will.
I don't know if he realized that intuitively or if it's just sheer luck though.
Looks like your "Oldschool Town of Salem Strategy" had some flaws. You're welcome.
