You have it all wrong, Animal Well is a worse version of Rain World in every way. It's not like Braid at all.
I haven't played any of the games being discussed except braid (15 years ago) and half of The Witness

Joseph Anderson is a great videomaker that you shouldn't watch.
It is completely pointless to watch some guy like this spend 40 minutes talking about a game like the witness, telling you what he thinks it's about, playing b-roll of its sights and puzzles.
In that 40 minutes you could play 40 minutes of the game, decide for yourself what it's about, and actually see the sights and solve the puzzles yourself. 40 minutes is enough to get a good sense of The Witness and you would probably enjoy it enough to go back and solve more of the puzzles.
The satisfying part of a puzzle game is solving the puzzles yourself. Watching a video of someone else playing a puzzle game is like watching a video of someone else eating an ice cream cone and then describing it to you - it is the ultimate intellectual cucking on the most basic level, the level of a person who can't even sit in his own chair and play his own video game, but needs somebody else to do it for him and describe it to him. We aren't even at "basic human functioning" level here - sitting in your chair to play a video game is not a complete existence and somehow we haven't even made it to that.
