I do take issue with statements like âall white people are racistâ because itâs very North American centric and just simply not true, but when youâre discussing Canada (residential schools) and the US there is so much dark and awful history, and those power dynamics remain in place for a really long time and effect generations of people
people who have been traumatized have a much harder time being good parents and functional people, thatâs why so many reservations are extremely grim places filled with addiction and misery, the pain just gets passed down

the apparent claim that all inequality in crime stat outcomes might be due to racist police isnt quite right, and is a dumb line of thought that gets parroted by leftists, yes
but that doesnt mean systemic racism in a way thats formulated with more nuance isnt involved
at the same time i'm personally not a fan of thinking in terms of "systemic racism" without like... a lot more details on what it should entail to do so and what the correct direction is but i mean yea i get your issues with how systemic racism is discussed often
