How's it going for everyone?
Ended up getting my parents this artisanal birdhouse made from salvaged wood that i spotted at a local christmas market. got my fiance a bathing suit, some records and some other stuff. involved in two other gift exchanges. got my brother in law some ugly hi-vis thermal baselayer stuff that he loves and my cousin's wife a pair of moccasins.
still need something else for my partner and something for a work gift exchange.
My gift shopping is not in good shape as I've been busy/away. I had one joke gift in mind for a Yankee Swap (white elephant to you uncultured swine not living on the East coast) but it ended up looking like it would cost 150-200 dollars to get it done (for a Yankee Swap that's probably going to be in the 20 dollar range)
Going to do the old trick of taking my girlfriend to the mall, pretending we are in a rush so we can't buy anything, then making a note of everything she liked that we couldn't buy. It may be cheap but the truth is that it's not possible for us, as men, to buy clothing for a woman unassisted under any circumstances.
Yeah that stuff is better handled by the bvll.

do you think the term "chinese gift exchange" is racist. i need to know prior to sending out instructions to my work cohort.
I would err on the side of precaution and just use "chink" to avoid any confusion.

Having my first ■■■■■■ gift exchange with my girlfriend this year. I asked for a wave kit.
I would actually be more concerned that nobody would know what is a "Chinese Gift Exchange." I had to google it (turns out it means Yankee Swap - a decidedly not racist term)
