No X X X X X is 1 match
5 horizontal isn't 2? But its [X X [[X]] X X]
I do consider this game to be Genre-Redefining, but I need to get this discrepancy resolved. Thank you for helping.
Its one horizontal set. The size of the set does not matter in determining a match, only potential score.
How about a match of 6 in a row horizontally? Would you count that as 2 hearts?
1 heart
Look forward to the February release for major UX polish, improvements, and gameplay additions.
I do not mind if you use an unorthodox matching algorithm but it would be ideal if it was highlighted.
I was completely baffled when the bat did not die. Having expunged 5 green pieces in the centre of the field you can imagine the odds of pairing another 3 before death was very slim.
One of the goals of the game designer is to ensure the players do not get "completely baffled".
I saw Peglin the other day and all I could think of was Jones Jewels. Probably intentional
The game happened to come out at a similar time of our Idea's conception - but some of the UI elements did end up similar due to my studying of all indie games in the last year.
But we had the idea of "bejeweled dungeon crawler" before we found out about Peglin.
Oh yeah for sure. I meant it more for the current iteration that has 2d advancing enemy view.
Good on you for doing competitor research and applying it
Thanks I suppose. In fact I was consciously avoiding "copying" it for the longest time, but the player feedback showed that the other iterations were too confusing.
You know I'm pretty sure Peglin was discussed at length by Jones and I like 7 months ago in this thread. If you want to read more about it I would check that out.
I will thanks. And yeah, I see what you mean. Reminds me of that saying that users don't want better, they want familiar. Maybe discord would've been less successful if they didn't just rip their design from slack and Skype.
