The reason you have trouble interacting with people isn’t that you’re “too smart” it’s that interacting with people is hard, especially if you aren’t good at it because you spent years playing video games, and being told you’re smart at a young age actually encourages you not to pursue things when they’re hard. If it doesn’t come easily immediately you get discouraged because you were taught you’re just “naturally good at things” (myth).

Iq matters but it’s one factor in a larger equation. Giving it so much meaning is stupid.
It’s like, there is data to prove tall ppl do better in life than short ppl, but assuming just because you have a kid who has genes indicating he will be 6ft+ tall means he will be successful is dumb.
There is data indicating people with higher iqs live better lives in general but the problem is that people see through the lense that high Iq = guaranteed ticket to good/meaningful life and some people or parents might get lazy and presume if one item is marked off the list, then no further work is needed.
My parents assumed this about me because they were poor and uneducated and got really mad when I wasn’t able to beat the other smart kids who had much more training and preparation than I did growing up lol. Ofc part of the fault is in myself too, but when your parents let you fuck around all day thinking he’s a smart kid, bad habits are hard to kill. Only in adulthood once you can look back and recognize your issues can you fix it,but that shit is hard as a kid
