I think you shouldn't change during the current day because it's not enough heads-up. People might have plans to go out and do stuff or whatever. If he decided to post result at last minute people might not have time to read and analyze and respond
Whereas he still might do that tomorrow but at least it's by his own gameplay choice and not a mid-day rulechange
That said you can change the timeline on future days to not make it as long or adapt to the needs of the game, just do it at the start of day instead of the final hours
