Remove all the polls/voting stuff (which always end up just being cliquey popularity contests) and instead use admin tools to run a bunch of queries and then post a thread about it
for example:
which thread had the most likes last year? it becomes official "best thread of the year" and link to it for people to go look at it and wonder why it got so many likes
which post had the most likes? as above
poster with the most posts? invent a slightly insulting name & give it as a badge to that person
who had the lowest likes-per-post? even if you don't like LPP as a metric you have to agree this is a question worth asking.
