God it seems so kino to be one of those guys getting into MMOs at the beginning
I staved off them so long that now when I play them they feel miserable
Yea the magic of silksong I think is that they are unaffected by the modern game design disease
I want to believe some indie could do the same for an MMO but the reality is there are just too many of these generic MMOs these days. The market is saturated
If you are not addicting your players you get lost in the stack
Have to admit it was super fun though to play mmos in the days when it was still possible to be unsure what to do
It helps I think that as a kid you are a little ■■■■■■■■
My friend in RS in 2005 would show up having leveled his account from 69 to 75 over a month or so and I would be sitting there thinking like "How does he do it??"
I concluded they must give you extra levels/exp when you buy membership
Are you serious? The developers clearly played WoW during the 10 year break between the first and second game, and it shows in the amount of "Collect 10 Cloths" quests they have.
Not to mention how hard they are trying to copy and imitate dark souls tropes - they want to be fromsoftware so bad it's embarrassing. Not saying that the game is bad - it's better than the first one, but it has some really uninspired design.
True
What's with the fetch quests lol
You literally admitted that you can't play anything other than multiplayer ranked games earlier in this thread or something - it's nothing to do with being too late to the party, you're just miserable inherently.
I’ve been playing shf! And I’d assume someone like you would agree that mmos are not like peak game experiences and see the irony in making a statement on multiplayer games and disincluding mmos.
I won’t disagree that I’m inherently miserable tho. Got me there
You're creating a false dilemma. I'd rather play an MMO and have a memorable social experience than 1000 more rounds of solo queue Deadlock or CSGO.
But Nma, Social experiences is what makes both games good! Of course solo queue deadlock could never compare.
If you don't have a full 5 or 10 man team to play Dota with you will likely have a miserable experience with random matchmaking. That's what it's designed to do, it thrives on negative emotional feedback.
It does not thrive that’s for sure. Or both of those games would be
This is not a sentence.
Both of those games would be thriving if it was possible for things to thrive from negative feedback the same way they do from positive
???????
Are you saying esports games are not popular and thriving? What are you saying?
I’d link the study where they made plants listen to music but I feel like you’d take me seriously
Yeah they sold the Dota esports circuit to UAE because it’s thriving. The player count only goes up
Yes, Dota's player count has been going up consistent over the last year and it's currently at 2017-2018 levels.
Not to mention that you're still trying to cherry pick a specific game when I'm trying to make a general statement on Esports games being lazy and manipulative, with you being the exact target audience; a slothful narcissist.
