Game End. All mafia have died.

Explanation of what happened in the game coming shortly

Lbj ez mvp thanks in advance

Gonna have to rename myself to BBJ soon if you know what I mean

Game explanation/what happened in the game:

All generated cards with answer key:

All roles:

Roles shown here were the first random roll. I thought it was a balanced roll but also thought Jones would be playing on Dondi acc and would want to win.

Card worked like this: Green/Red/Blue are binary 1/0 for town/maf/powered. Everything else was binary 1/0 from a random number generator. You got two cards which both had the same info encoded - the two cards were to give you some ability to figure out the patterns. There ended up being a lot of similarity in some cards which I am pretty sure was not a fuck-up on my part but just random roll nonsense (two people had identical cards between their two)

This game felt like an all-time low for people understanding the basics of the setup which is pretty funny because it is one of my simplest. You just have to read like 2 brief blurbs in an opening post to know:

You have a cop-like role and can use it on day 1 and then nights after that. It returns 1 card. 1 of town's cops is fake

I don't think any cops in the game knew this. ■■■ and Nyte didn't use their ability. LBJ did (good job) but was super confused as to what was going on.

The VTs all figured out the game pretty fast. I think all VTs posted some variation of their cards (NMA's were upside-down, SCSF had like 1 real one and 1 fake one) but also identified that there were similar patterns in each other's cards and town circled pretty quickly.

Maf needed to understand that their cards show their role, so they need to fake town-like cards. And they have a Day 1 check to be able to do so. Instead Nyte put very little effort to towntell with cards, didn't use her ability to read any town cards, and Toprak posted a real screenshot of his two cards with the name of an African country scrawled over them.

So yea it was immediately clear who the maf were. I think they still could've made some progress if town had been convinced to lynch wrong somewhere.

It was always the mechanic of the game to flip only the cards, that's in the opening post ■■■.

NMA is in a timeout right now for reacting while dead after I warned him not to the first time.

NMA did well to get the setup quickly and pick out the mafia but I believe he needs to change his strategy of leading off every game by saying the game is shit, the host is shit, cancel the game etc - it's not polite, it's not fun, nobody wants to host games for somebody who is saying stuff like that, and while it may have convinced Nyte and Toprak to basically give up, it's just not that fun to have games like that. In short we are all playing here at this point because we are friends and like playing games together - acting like a jerk in that game is counter to that aim and will probably lead us to go back to 6 months of no games being hosted again.

Thanks all for playing good job on voting the scum

This is one of the most basic setups ever hosted on this website, it is copy-pasted from mafia wiki with 1 simple added mechanic

I feel confident that the setup isn't the issue because the players didn't read the setup. It's not possible for the setup to be a problem if nobody knows what the setup is.

The only possible argument you could make about the setup is that the players on this website are so disengaged from mafia at this point that they can no longer play anything that requires them to read, think about, or understand anything that they do not already know from old mafia games

In other words: Plain Jane is the only acceptable setup. All setups from here on should be Plain Jane. Asking these players to play anything other than Plain Jane would be like asking a monkey to dress in a suit and represent you in a court of law - it goes against his very nature and is an insult to both the monkey and the courtroom.

In this way, running Carbon-14 With Hidden Role Cards is effectively griefing the mafia subforum.

How does that make it any better?

What?

You're proud of your mafia game being basic boring and dumb? Ok.

Anyway no flame, VTs played good

Maf needed to make more of an attempt to fool them if they didn't want to get rolled

>hosts an unengaging and uninteresting setup
>waaahhhh the players on this site are so disengaged!!

I ain't READING SHIT unless there's chee$e on the line
