The argument that people have gotten intellectually lazy and used to reading their friends instead of playing with newcomers has a bit of weight, but it does suck when certain long-term players seem to abuse this newcomer privilege to be extra mysterious. If people want to have ambiguity as to who they are then we should be running anonymous games so everyone can do it or nobody can.
Let us consider a mask analogy. we all wear different account masks to the maskerade ball on Namafia. Some of us are totally unmasked under the mask, and left more naked on the mafia battlegrounds.Some of us remain masked behind the mask, enigmatic in nature.
But we all ultimately agree to the social contract of wearing the same mask to the party, or using a certain new one if we insist upon it, in a way that ultimately doesnt inconvenience our friends too much. Given that we are the same people who were initially invited to the part of course.
But If you've already been invited and youâre passing your mask around and buying new masks to wear just to confuse the people who have enjoyed how the party has been, you're still just confusing people who don't need to be and abusing your party invite privilege (and your ability to freely use your mask as you please (as an American))
You're also probably a dick outside of the party too, but that's an entirely different concern

There's no need for this cynical, pessimistic, and depressive outlook regarding our engagement with Mafia.
We put in a ton of effort into making good games, hosting responsibly, and getting people to play. If you look past all that and only choose to cherry pick the supposed "trolling" - what is there to say?
You guys always go back to the unknown accounts thing, but I don't see how it was ambiguous at all last game.
I don't share this account and neither does Miku. Both of our accounts are very well established on this site and everyone knows who we are.
People share accounts primarily because they get banned.
I was on Toprak's account because this account was banned. Same with Jones and anyone else who account shared.
I don't think anyone is confused about what's happening here or who's on whose account these days, so I just see the whole account argument to be in bad faith.

I don't see how any of it is deceptive. Nobody is trying to hide anything - it's all public information and the moderators can freely check IPs.
