NADotA Caucus: Rd 4

also this isnt how it is when all your friends still wanna believe u and likely did similar shit in prep school / college

u think he cares what all the libtards think?

A lot of people have been accused of all sorts of shit lately and you should be able to observe the pattern by now that investigation, conviction, evidence etc do not matter. People are held as guilty and punished for it in the eyes of the public as soon as the accusation comes out.

You could be a public figure and you could be accused tomorrow and, despite never doing anything, your career could be over.

I believe most of these guys are guilty. But eventually there will be one that isn’t and that’s fucked up.

Yes?

our reads disagree here i think

Should We Teach About Consent In K-12? Brett Kavanaugh’s Home State Says Yes

If you were accused of rape and people believed u did it but you didn’t would you care?

i mean

i didnt watch any of this shit i only have secondhand stuff

but i got the impression he seems to give no fucks about the people who think he’s guilty and is acting as if it’s obvious he did nothing wrong

and i assume he will still have a healthy network of friends and acquaintances to back him up and support him

So you’re telling me you have an “impression” of the guy but didn’t watch him at all and have no primary source whatsoever

And you don’t see how that is a problem - a broken system which can be easily abused to falsely label and accuse someone at any moment

Kavanaugh Was the treasurer of the Keg City Club

no i see how its a problem in generality

im just talking about this case

it’s always been a problem in generality; mras have been complaining about this shit since like 2008reddit

also having the correct opinion here isnt gonna stop this shit from happening

i actually dont see a path to better due process in the case of public accusations of public figures in this type of situation

asoul i have had sex not sure why it interests you. lets focus on Brett Kavanaugh’s “100 Kegs or Bust”

better due process for casual observers having opinions, specifically

how do u stop that

Idk why kavanaugh did all this dumb shit denying that he’s ever been drunk or saying he was a virgin and shit. He should’ve just embraced and been like “yeah i went hard as fuck in high school but that doesn’t make me a rapist” and he probably wouldn’t look as bad.

You replied in the wrong thread

yea i have this exact take

sry

I do want to be clear I’m not defending or making excuses for rapists in any way. I just think the way we approach and react to it isn’t particularly thoughtful or effective. And it sucks that it takes this guy almost being appointed to the Supreme Court for this stuff to finally come out. He could’ve been arrested many years ago (if the justice system were so inclined) and it probably would have sent his life on a much different path. Maybe he would have shaped up and been a better person for it. I’m really hoping we don’t hear over the course of the investigation that this was a continued habit of his over the time he was gradually rising through positions of power.

do you have a vision on how to improve people’s approach

you can use this case as an example to compare with your own ideal version
