If it's a good strategy to vote into the NMA train, then why does his slot still exist? Yours makes sense if it's KKat, but not stove.
Mafia can always misplay, but that's where this doesn't add up.

Imagine you're you or stove as scum and see jdance announcing his vote list (you+stove) yesterday, why not take him out AND also get rid of a player outside the NMA train.
