POLITICS MEGA-thread 2025-2026 edition

My point is that mobilizing the US military to use against it's own citizens is a very bad idea.

they're not even citizens, and the national guard has been used to stop riots and civil unrest since forever

That is my point. They are not rioting.
Not in DC.
Not in LA.
Not in Chicago.
Not in Portland.

what about not being citizens?

why should we not remove non-citizens who are illegally working in our country

Not through the use of the US military.
Which is what Trump is suggesting.

Aren't they rioting over ICE in portland literally right now?

Source?
Anything but Fox News footage from several years ago.

oh this is the place they've been protesting blasting loud sounds all fucking night for months now, multiple people have been arrested and local portland police refusing to break up the protest

and its like 200 national guard troops lmao

chicago only just started protesting and its because ICE has been nothing but laughable and people already hated trump, think he's autocratic and think this is an extension of that

yeah they're rolling in the tanks to portland rn, 200 national guard troops holy shit!!!!

like half of why ICE protests are happenign in the first place are because of gross negligence like people with green cards being harassed

why is any mobilization necessary it doesnt do anything besides waste resources

because they've been protesting outside of this ICE facility 24/7 for months and portland PD refuses to break up the protest to allow ICE to do their jobs

and its not even like its totally peaceful either like a bunch of hippies sitting in circles or some shit

i ujust googled it and figured out the situation has infinitely more nuance than that, you could too

I like how this guy doesn't know shit about shit but always wants to try and be contrarian anyways. That's rare these days. Usually they at least go pick up some real talking points first
