It’s hard to separate the line between sexism and racism, I’ll be honest. That’s kind of a no brainer, really.
It’s not “racism” in ewiz’s sense that there was no “power” dynamic except that they would tell our boss that I was doing things wrong, slowly, or not working and spending all my time talking to clients. Constantly trying to get me in trouble.
I learned over time how to navigate the dynamic. it ultimately led to a situation where I was required to report actual assault and my boss told me I needed to leave the property while they fired him because they were afraid I would be assaulted for it, good times.

fact of the matter is, there is a considerably sizable contingency of people who use racism to cover all race-based bigotry who don’t have an understanding of the sociological definition of racism and tend to have a bemused knee-jerk reflex against that definition and i’m not sure theyll ever come around
