Most people are your teammates but a couple people are lying to you pretending to be your teammates - they are bad guys.
The "town" (teammates) are working together to try to identify and vote out the bad guys.
The bad guys get to kill a town every "night."'
The game runs in "day/night" cycles where during the day, everybody (town and bad guys pretending to be town) discusses who to vote out, votes one person out - then during the night, the bad guys kill one guy. Then you repeat the cycle and either the town eventually finds the bad guys, or the bad guys eventually kill enough people to where they can't be voted out any more.
Town wins if they kill all the bad guys and bad guys win if they kill all the town.
It's a game of deception and figuring people out.

I do think thereās value in learning to play social deception Games well even if you are the kind of person who sees little value in Deception. Most of the time you will get town and your job is to identify real town and persuade majority town that itās not you and itās someone else, in addition to hunting. If forum mafia isnāt right maybe popcorn mafia would be more appealing.
One day weāll do Tableyop sim and play sheriff of Nottingham as the first game because itās 4 player capped and youāll have fun if you do come
Everyone for the most part sucked at mafia to start and the games weāve had lately have been really good. To be honest I didnāt think people would get this good and Iām really happy they have. I just wish the mafia forum wasnāt so insular and that we figured out how to have players like you have more fun
I should just start rewarding $10 out of pocket to newer players who do well for the first time or some of incentive to make up for the fact that it is daunting to boot
