The Dissonance of Jones

It is apples and oranges yeah

Atleast the stuff notjones did does not sound very fun and working with clients can be such a bother

I'm sure it's fun to him but ultimately is atleast more employable. Not that it matters, nothing does

frankly the situation is that 90% of programming jobs are just outright fake and there is no reason to hire me for a fake job.

Building up a github only takes a few months of work. What constitutes the line between "regurgitates" and "common interests"?

Why not

Does fake mean stupid languages or simple work

If it's the latter shouldn't it be easy to get done in a short time frame?

By fake he usually means a job that doesn't produce a valuable product. Jone is very product oriented.

no like meaningless churn that is completely worthless and is just an excuse to have managers build bureacratic fiefdoms. I have X amount of people working for me.

If we do this project that's completley meaningless and disconnected frm reality, it can go on my resume.

It sounds like the work you did for that contract was specifically meaningful

It's atleast a lot more meaningful than the SaaS here's your email product #4848572 world

exactly. 90% of jobs are worthless SaaS garbage that it doesn't actually matter if it gets completed or not.

Honestly I think there's much higher completion for those than the 10% and if the 10% is where you want to be it's not hard to get in

for me, those 10% are state sponsored hacking groups. that's the only people who would reasonably employ me.

the fake stuff will not hire me because I'm an autistic asshole.

I don't disagree with your criticism of managerial styles in big companies but you can get a job at a place where you're second in command because no one works there and avoid the situation (but you end up directly dealing with stakeholders which is its own hell)

My company's former it guy was like that.
He set us up with instant messaging, even though we already had email, teams, zoom, and a small office.
He even migrated a lot of stuff on the server to a worthless wiki page.

He's gone now, of course.

the economy is completely fake.

if the monetary system was deflationary, you could work for a few years and save and build wealth that way.

instead the government inflates the currency, it ends up in zombie corporations, who they then give the money to white collar professionals to do nothing.

Bitcoin fixes this

If a company creates value for others and is given money in exchange for it it's not baseless

a significant portion of white collar work is literally just wealth transfers as a result of an inflationary monetary policy. the money is printed and it has to go to them somehow, so it's just paid for in fake jobs.
