Yes you need your LLM to identify the nodes (vector similarity whatever). Write them to an actual graph db with their relationships as written in the source docs. Then this becomes queryable data
We had an intern build exactly this over this most recent summer. 20 years of research documents, chunk/parse/vectorize whatever, traditional RAG it, then also have your LLM understand relationships in the docs, write those relationships to a Graph DB, make the relational data queryable by a second RAG implementation. Now you have two different ways of pulling info out of the docs that was previously only accessible by opening up some PDF in a Box folder somewhere

to some degree, these projects are very self-contained. there's a history too because the documents evolve, but I don't know if that makes a difference?
