There's been countless games where I've hard townread people for making a bad play, not saying this play of mine was bad, but from your PoV it seems to be. Lynching people for making a mechanically bad play but not realizing scum would never play like that makes you either a bad player or scum.
Overemphasizing it while lynching is also an easy way to out oneself (bazingaboy) as it becomes obvious they're setting up for a "I just played by the books" excuse afterwards

Besides, most of the “bad play” comes from an aftermath that didn’t provide town with enough to build credibility for the player who made the (mis)play (naturally, assuming they’re town)
Of course It's possible that either player is wifoming or doing something strange, but looking at it that way often changes an "obvious" scumread to a townread
