Voter thread 2024

Damn it's crazy the hr people the government people hire do exactly what hr people are trained to do in the field.

The think tank moron has an excuse to not know this is conventional in the private sector. You? You're supposed to be applying for jobs....

This is just incomprehensible garbage. I only apply to DHA stuff.

Not picking up on the nature of the misunderstanding. That's the most clear post I've ever crafted.

I'm just saying the highlighted bits there describe exactly what every single person that's graduated college in the past five or so years believes happens when they submit their resume to a private company.

Sorry I've only worked bespoke international engineering consulting jobs in the past few years.

Once I get past an organization size of 10 people or so I'm unhireable.

The real kicker there is the OPM calculates who to hire based on self-assessments ("resume copy pasting" is the first gate) and then adds in veterans preference where the entire candidate pool for every OPM regulated job is 296 veterans who self-assessed themselves as masters of the universe and 4 regular people.

I love the positions that operate on point systems and they tell you right up front veteran status is +5 or +10

Dude you need to stop working and applying for this big ass corporate jobs if this is how they do hiring

Wtf lmao there is no way that’s how they’re doing hiring I have never heard of someone doing that.

I dont think hiring in the real world are really done through job applications

It's more through knowing people then going thru this process as a facade

Hence the post the position at the middle of the night thing (but in private sector you can just hire who you want it doesn't have to be so disguised like this)

Last thing is I've noticed people who are hired the "right" way (aka they applied, didn't know anybody, went through interviews and stuff) don't really "stick" - aka in layoffs they are first to get cut even if they are good and are making real contributions

I’ve gotten lower end jobs by just applying and then showing up and asking to talk to the manager but that was when I was like 18

But any other job yea I knew someone

Finished the second Thiel one-hour interview. Apparently there is another one coming from this same interviewer.

I have to say this one was pretty odd. The interviewer seemed to want to talk about a lot of vaguely-spiritual, Christian theology-type concepts. It's all very abstract and not very practical other than as a commentary on the fact that Thiel seems to think a lot about existential threats to humanity and about scientific progress and how the two might go hand-in-hand.

There was one interesting moment where Thiel talks about the pandemic - he seems to view COVID as a bioweapon that came from a lab. Which I have to say is interesting for a fairly mainstream/traditional podcast/interviewer format. I imagine he talked about this extensively on Rogan lol

Babys First Thiel right here.

Real Thielbux recipients have to have a deep knowledge of the works of Renee Girard and spend the majority of their time pondering Christian eschatology.

PUTIN IS THE ONE DOING THAT DUMBFUCK

you literally act like Russian did nothing wrong. fucking dumb fuck gulping down shaky ahistorical anecdotes like he gulps down tucker carlson and peter theil cum

its genuinely so straight forward

do you think invading ukraine with a plainclothes army and annexing crimea was okay? totally not a "destabilizing act bringing us closer to Ww3" the way you describe Biden's reactions to this madness as the REAAAL problem. Even though all of NATO including the sec gen has said they're committed to protecting Ukraine SINCE DAY ONE

But no you like simple answers to complex questions, so 'Biden did this!!!'' is your comfort zone

most EU countries wanted to be MORE hawkish and expedite long range missiles and planes

Biden was the one slowing that process down

Same story when EU wanted to give Ukr modern tanks... know which country was LAST ONE ON BOARD? FUCKING YOU

ot to mention your dumbass misundersting of the logistics involved.

Giving a country , say , $500m of artillery shells that YOU WERE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY TO DISPOSE OF, so actually SAVING MONEY is technically $500m in aid to Ukraine.

YOUR DUMB ASS sees a headline like that and goes "omg why are we sending ukraine $500m in cash"

SOMETHING LIKE 80% of US aid was as described above

you are so wrong, so far removed from the truth, it's fucking depressing that people lik you exist tbh
