Returning to the Linear Algebra Discussion
Terry really is a perfect study in what it is to be a God Programmer these days
What it is: Nothing. A God Programmer can sit in the upstairs area of a mcdonalds giving an interview about some highly specific technical topic and having 0 impact on the world.
This person knows linear algebra and has none of the things that are supposed to be downstream of it - no job, no home, no hoes, no life.
If you want "software developer" and its downstream effects, you do not need linear algebra and you do not need assembly. You need some random subset of knowledge which is probably (but not necessarily) a couple levels of abstraction above those, and that subset changes from role to role (with some overlaps) and may, sometimes, contain linear algebra.
Meanwhile, if you want to be cutting edge (or just edgy), you also can't just follow the path of those who were cutting edge before. Knowing these details about assembly and operating systems was valuable in the 1980s and 90s. Today it makes you a homeless schizo. Not Woz - Terry.
The key point is that the cutting edge moves - you can't just do things that were cutting edge 40 years ago and expect them to be cool & edgy today.

Today's cutting edge? Using Claude Code to autonomously read from a JIRA ticket and push a PR to Bitbucket, automatically run test cases & push to a live environment for human validation.

Thanks, I'm getting better finally. I've been crazy ravenous eating up to 5 times a day. Started drinking this thing called Hydralyte, a super concentrated version of Gatorade + extra stuff. A shot glass of it every 1.5 hrs. We'll see how I feel tomorrow I have to climb a tall ass crane in the morning
