Also to clarify I never said anything about needing to make time in my schedule to vote, I could vote very easily like I could’ve basically every election. I just don’t want to vote because I think it’s stupid
I’ve spent most of my time as an adult in california and now Massachusetts, both are not flipping red in my lifetime
If I was in a swing state, then maybe, but 2016 I still had residence in Nevada but didn’t vote either so not really sure I would.
So called free thinkers when a piece of paper with two options appears every 4 years
Damn this guy really has never seen a ballot
You vote every year (sometimes more than once a year) and it’s basically almost never only 1 multiple choice option
U never heard of city council or comptroller or judges
ive thought about this a lot and the data appears to conclude that nonvoters are (insert any slur here)
Ok buddy keep thinking ur doing anything with ur measly little vote
It's not too late. If everyone writes in Bernie Sanders, we can still save America.
im sorry yns but anti electoralism is a stupid opinion with no actual teeth or argument to it besides xyz personal anecdote or how it "feels" useless
not being able to vote, i'm guessing, would feel even more hopeless
very few people in human history have had the freedom you do and frankly it's disrespectful to the ones who came before us to take it for granted, let alone being openly spiteful
" i dont wanna vote unless i get to be the hero who changes the outcome " main character type vibes
only ever seen twitter leftists defend anti electoralism before
like the reason you even feel your vote is useless is that the other voters get up and turn out no matter what, even if the "know" they will be a blue state regardless
those people, in the exact parallel scenario you're in, are changing the way you feel about voting
so all those votes that pushed past the margin of victory, they still matter, they're still influencing you and your choices
your "worthless" vote could cause 3 other people to vote next time. those three create another three each. continue forever
it may matter less than being in a swing state, but it still does something
the past informs the present, the present informs the future
change takes time
I must not vote. Voting is the mind-killer. Voting is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my vote. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the vote has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
The early voting places are getting less busy.
I will vote at lunch tomorrow, with a burrito in my hand.
imagine thinking ur vote doesnt matter when there's close races all the time

The only vote I care about in Texas is voting Ted Cruz out.
He is a worthless piece of shit.
notice how all those are in swing states and the one in california isnt even in LA county
