The actual truth is that big tech companies aggressively pander to whatever political party is in charge because they are trying to save themselves from being prosecuted for antitrust
This is what Zuck describes there - pushed back on what the Biden admin wanted and suddenly they were the subject of a bunch of investigations by various parts of the federal govt
And they all have been behaving monopolistically for at least 10 years - which further exposes them to potential antitrust litigation but also makes them better candidates for government manipulation. Essentially the greatest ally of totalitarian federal government is a massive media monopoly which has to cater to their every demand because they are perpetually at risk of being shut down. The bigger the monopoly, the more effective the coercion and more effective the population control
This is also why you see these donations from big tech companies to politicians and political causes.
This was kicked off back in the 90s by Bill Clinton's admin going after Microsoft. The message was: You are a big boy company now and you need to pay to play. Since then Microsoft has donated to political campaigns (on both sides) and other big tech got the message
Nonetheless it is illuminating and entertaining to see them all turn on Biden so hard and proves that there is a potential for backlash
With any luck the coercion of the last 4 years will be made illegal in the next 4 and new laws will be written which specifically prevent this "we are not breaking a shit-ton of federal laws about govt overreach, it's a private company that we coerced doing it" jedi mind trick
