i didnt realize how much of the links were right wing garbage but it seems verifiable
its an extremely stressful, demanding job that does deserve high pay and requires very competent people. i want to believe that there wouldn't be a shortage just because DEI but the timeline does match up with this stuff being put in to the 2015 anti-discrimination lawsuit to now. at the very least (if this were true) you could do DEI filtering and not end up massively understaffed but it would require much higher pay and an easier path to becoming an atc
