Can't tell if you're calling me a narcissist or that the people described are narcissistic. Either way I do feel empathy and willingness to even attempt to put oneself in another's position is extremely low. I don't exclude myself, nor do I think i'm somehow above some base level selfish human behavior.
Meds.
Lots of people online right now. Dan must have changed the user timeout to a much longer window. If you log in for 5 minutes to see what's going on in the Voter Thread 2024, your icon gets shown to everybody for the next 48 hours
Textbook narcissism.
Because what you deem a "good answer" doesn't exist, in so far as the ones that exist don't cut it and its an arbitrary line you place wherever you'd like it to be. If you ever did interact with an elderly person they could tell you about what life was like before the polio vaccine. The only good answer I've heard for not just getting your shot is that you are an immunocompromised individual whose body can't handle it.
youre comparing covid to polio right now?
why do i have to give an answer to not doing something that is unnecessary just because other people say I should get it? comparing covid to polio is ridiculous because polio would cause life long disabilities to people as children and covid doesn't do shit to people under the age of 60 (view stats above)
its like getting a seasonal flu shot, i've never gotten a seasonal flu shot because i don't really care if i get the flu that much, I haven't had the flu in years, and I'm not around people where the flu is dangerous to them. if you want to cry about me not getting the flu shot then go ahead but i think youre just a weirdo for believing everyone needs to get it
Dunno how I feel about post-covid/long-covid but it is something medical professionals are looking into, I rarely get my seasonal flu shot unless it's convenient, I'm sure i'm back a covid update shot since I think I only got the first 3.
My b i thought this was an antivax in general topic, and my anger towards those allowing measles, whooping cough and polio to pop back up was showing. End of the day is what it is, takes like 10 mins at CVS or wherever near you, I think i'd prefer people not grandstand about it and act like a martyr for a cause about it. Like just say you are lazy/selfish/dont like needles, instead of like billgates is gonna control me with a microchip.
long covid is fake ass nonsense like the people who try to claim disability for lyme disease.
I'm not anti-vax on some fuck all vaccines I just never saw the need to mandate covid vaccines as much as they did, or do the lockdowns, because me reading the cdc data saw that this thing was only killing old people, and that was obvious like as soon as the data started coming out. I think the entire thing was a huge overreaction, if you wanted to vaccine mandate access to like nursing homes thats one thing but to quite literally shut down entire cities, put in shelter in place orders for months, and restrict people from going out to eat, restricting their travel to certain states, and other nonsense was just re tarded completely
nowadays people claim "there were no lockdowns!!!" like bro i lived in LA at the time and the city was completely locked the fuck down for a couple months and they gradually reopened shit over like a year or two.
Valid that it was annoying, but it was trump and his administration mishandling it like crazy that allowed it to get bad enough they put out the lock down. Didn't help that he spread misinformation, and his base was the most likely to forgo basic precautionary measures/vaccinate. For what it's worth chronic lyme is something that even wikipedia says there is no evidence supporting its existence.
yeah its just a total coincidence that people get bit by ticks and then are never the same for the rest of their lives
they're just all faking it, all across the world, without communicating with each other
for sure
obviously if it's not in the DSM it doesn't exist, because we have solved medicine in the year 2025
the chronic lyme disease page has a specific carve-out saying that it is specifically not talking about the same thing you are
the same reason you do literally anything else for the benefit of the people around you, because it's the right thing to do
the same reason not to speed and tailgate people when you drive
same reason to stop and let kids cross at a crosswalk
same reason to help someone catch their dog if it escapes
same reason to help someone and call 911 if they are in trouble
because we live in a society and that is a huge privilege, people doing things that help other people is literally the core fabric of any good, high trust society
like you constantly complain about living in a low trust society but are seemingly proud of the fact you do things that contribute to that same low trust, i don't get it
The tick took away his literacy, very sad. My feelings on it are mixed because its very similar to fibromyalgia/cfs and now long covid, and they are very difficult things diagnose because the only way you can get to that diagnosis is eliminating everything else. The symptoms are so varied and range all over in severity, and if you asked most people if they have any of the symptoms on any given day they'd say yes. They line up with like symptoms of getting older, so getting a doctor to take it seriously or reach a diagnosis sounds exhausting in itself. Then when you get there there's like no real treatment, but i read an article about someone with CFS doing cocaine daily and that was pretty badass.
