It seems maybe they think the majority of them don't need the federal gov because their respective local governments are so corrupt and think what the fuck has government done for me?
So while their blame is misguided, the end result might still work out in their favors because cutting the federal gov would hopefully cut the local too but more likely the corrupt local will grift even harder and try to convince the victims it is their fault and flip the script on the fed being the problem and say we need to fund the fed again.
We are in huge levels of debt that never existed ever in my entire life or the history of the USA. We can look at history to see how this plays out with huge countries having huge debts to pay. But what does that imply for the USA?
I do see a reality nowadays where the country possibly fractures into smaller republics, there's a vote that might make the ballot in California to leave the USA. It wouldn't actually leave but it is meant to kick start the process which would require a constitutional amendment but with how much animosity there is in the USA I can see it possibly happening, sort of a cutting off your nose to spite the face moment happening here.
We are like 10 years into brexit and can we say it as a definitive success or failure or is it still too early to decide?
