Hate to break it to you but the majority of people in the world are not on these stupid internet sites and dont give a fuck what goes on on them
You are too online. You'd think with this pizza job you'd be able to stay grounded in the real world but maybe all it serves you up to interact with are a bunch of zoomers and weirdos
It's not really important what other people are doing, we are all in control of ourselves and our own habits and destiny.
When you make good choices in these things you find there are more people making those same choices than you realize. And then you realize there is a solid contingent of humanity who are not brain-fried, who are productive, who don't really care about this internet stuff, and they're doing good things. And you want to be part of that.
But it starts with making good choices on a personal level and not being too concerned about what others are doing.
Your understanding of free will exists because you were born into a higher class family and had many options available to you. A north korean would not conceptualize free like you nor would they have have the same means that you do. Therefore, free will is a spectrum at best and an illusion at worst
The discussion was about having the power to choose. The choice in question was not sitting on social media all day and not being brain fried by algorithms.
Everyone has choices. People without phones in Africa have their own choices. We all have the power to choose in our own lives, those choices may be different for people in different circumstances, but the point is that when offered, we should choose to improve. This is the only core concept I'm interested in - the rest of the details are not relevant.
I dont claim to pull myself up by anything but I don't believe in jdance saying he can't limit his tiktok time because there are starving children in Africa
