Rwanda I think, it was Rwanda

So basically you go to the UK illegally and there’s a chance they would send you to Rwanda even if you were from Syria

Still blows my mind people heard Elon say yeah shits gonna get a lot worse for y’all before it can get better and the mooks ate it up despite “the price of eggs”

I don't think he'll be able to

Mass firing as the CEO of a private company is a very different beast from trying to file people in the federal government as a random lunatic in charge of some imaginary department

It isn’t if the house won’t impeach

It is common practice for Republicans to understaff government agencies and the staff they do choose intentionally do nothing for 4 years.

So Trump's first step in trimming the government is to create a new government agency and hire not one but two people to run it.

Two middle managers who have no life experience doing anything worthwhile except postulating on the internet and doing drugs

Also appointed a bunch of Israel war hawks for national security. Looks like that one didn't work out too well!

the only reason you guys even think about the 'border crisis' is because of the 24/7 tv news propaganda

the idea its the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE is fucking laughable and shows how much you guys parrot that shit

did you also recently start to have super strong feelings about trans kids in sports? its hilarious how manipulated you guys are without seeing

literally repeatinf whatever narrative is cooked up

the idea that shit is more important than shit like the potential for China to invade Taiwan, North Korean soldiers in Ukraine

lets not even mention the existential threat that is climate change, how the most powerful country in the world could possibly lead the way, pressure allies to do the same or be left behind

but nahhh, tariffs. lets do tarrifs

why, because fuck you, thats why

but no, lets talk about trans kids in sports

No. SpaceX is top 3(?) in terms of outputted value/human capital on the entire globe. Tesla isn't anything to scoff at. The USG's biggest problem is mis-allocation of human capital. It's not as dumb as it appears (despite them naming their office DOGE).

  1. Require the personal fitness standards that are already on the books for things like the FBI -- don't meet them, you're fired. (EASY)
  2. Re-institute civil service exams. (IMPOSSIBLE).
  3. Require RTO 5-days a week. If you work for the government you should have to go to the office. (EASY).
  4. You can do re-orgs -- at the most drastic you have slashing entire departments (IMPOSSIBLE). At the low end you find some silo you don't like -- you relocate their operations halfway across the country and if you can't relocate there in 6 months you're fired (HARD).
  5. Institute mandatory retirement ages/YoE. (HARD)

Pretty funny to have the federal govt do a full RTO. Gives a new meaning to "You have to go back"

We need "free trade" with China because if we don't have it, how are we going to fight WWIII against them in five years? Whatever "partner" we had in Europe just doesn't exist anymore -- they've completely de-industrialized by decoupling themselves from cheap Russian energy. The German government collapsed a week or so ago largely because there's a) no money left and b) the factories are shutting down.

How are you supposed to re-industrialize the US? Subsidies? You're wading into command economies lol...; moreover, the current "subsidy" system in the US is to write a 5000 page document that is filled with 1) woke shit 2) pork handouts that require the project to be spread out over all 50 states 3) kickbacks, etc.

The only people who can actually qualify for this type of funding are the people who already have the expertise to write a proposal specifically to bilk the government for tens of millions of dollars and deliver absolutely nothing.

Everyone and their mother builds the same "Epic Ukraine FPV Assassination Drone" company with a supply chain completely dependent on Chinese parts.

Basically, the idea that the US has any ability whatsoever to fight a war anymore is a complete joke and we should refocus on things we can actually control -- like whether the country gets filled with 85IQ Guatemalans and deciding whether we want to prosecute shoplifting or not.

There is a valid question as to why SpaceX is able to do things the federal government has seemingly been unable to do for the past 20 years

But I think Elon Musk likely has very little to do with that success based on the intelligence he presents in his public appearances

And the personal life decisions he has made (impregnating and abandoning like 7 different wives)

The fact that SpaceX asks you to supply your SAT scores when you apply might have something to do with it. There are certain organizations that have cultures of excellence and can make people actually believe in the mission -- the story about NASA is the janitors used to tell people their job was to get people to the moon. Elon apparently has that to some degree, despite him being some freak autist sperg.

Getting really invested in American politics as a Canadian is kind of funny to me. It can be funny to peer into it as an outsider like an accelerated hyper ■■■■■■■■ inevitable end state of our own culture but anything more than a passing interest means your mind is colonized.

I think that we, as Americans, have treated the Canadians pretty well. But that's basically over. People were "well actually you can't remigrate the horde of Haitans because Haiti won't take them back"; you know where they're going? That's right buddy -- we're sending them straight to Canada for your even more r*tarded asylum system. Enjoy resettling the million Haitian immigrants we paid to bring here for some reason.
