They practically give old houses away in Japan. Come here and you can be a home owner in a rural area by just paying for some renovations.
They literally give them away for free. The ones that cost money like 12k-30k don’t even seem that rural comparatively to what is considered “rural” in the US. Some of them seem to be in rough condition but honestly not even that bad. Like could live in it and do repairs here and there.
Idk about the visa process though and then what someone could do for work. The time zone difference is kind of rough

But the literal free ones usually require you to become a farmer or some shit lol. I think it is even in the terms for many of them.
