need recommendations. I have been using cheap dollar store ones but I want to upgrade to the real deal.
I want: strong bluetooth connection that wont go in and out. and good sound quality. that's honestly it. and not apple ones.
I use pixel buds, i havent fucked with many of the other expensive ones but they have lasted me almost 2 years going strong.

Which generation do you have?
Fairly sure I am the proud owner of pixel bud pro 2's. They were a gift though so my value proposition was always going to be high.
Also I've used pixel phones for a while so I'm sure there is some stuff that like because apple is apple would work less good with iPhone.
I need a new phone too and I want a pixel but this country is really iPhone oriented.

I got a pixel 9 when i dropped my pixel 7 after 2 years and it actually cracked the screen... super sad. Then got the 9 while getting the screen replaced on the 7, since my GF was using my old pixel 3 I gave her the 7 once the repair was done. I needed my phone to clock in and out of work at the time so going without a working one wasn't an option even for a few days.
I like them mainly because they are fairly cheap without a carrier/subsidized into a contract. Since I use Ting for mobile and its bring your own phone kinda deal, not that you cant use an iphone its just an "unlocked" iphone is like double the price.

Yeah it seems like it is just as good as an iPhone but cheaper and I am already used to android.
But there have been so many awkward scenarios at work or even out with people where being the only android at the table got in the way because I can’t airdrop or connect to Apple TVs. All kinds of stuff. iPhone just dominates Japan

I haven’t used android in a while and iPhones have been languishing design wise but once you get used to it, if it’s well integrated, it’s just too nice. I soyed out when I accidentally left my wallet at home and checked out with Apple Pay for the first time
I might get a last gen iphone se or something.
Also not sure what ur phone plans look like but with the iMessage blue thing they’re also totally free to text and call if you have data which is sick. They also just seem to be more performant battery wise, last longer

My phone plan is basically just 40 gigs a month of data with a per minute phone/texting charge.
Nobody texts in Japan everyone uses LINE.
Bluetooth earbuds suck because the battery dies instantly, real headphones can last the entire day, like my Sony xm headphones last more than a day beinf connected to my pc.

Ah I mentioned iPhone too cuz AirPods work better with my iphone than Bluetooth ever has for my phones. They might be a little expensive and only handle one BT connection at a time. But they work well, fit in my funny ears well, Hard to lose and easy to find with Apple find my
