Not sure how or why I’ve never had to like re-pair them to have them work as expected like every other Bluetooth device seems to require. But I’m not complaining
AirPods' per-charge battery life varies by model, with standard AirPods lasting up to 5-6 hours, AirPods Pro around 4.5-6 hours with ANC on, and AirPods Max offering up to 20 hours. The charging case provides multiple recharges, extending total listening time to 24 hours or more for standard AirPods and up to 30 hours for AirPods 3rd generation. Quick 5-minute charges in the case can yield about an hour of use, and a full charge for the earbuds takes approximately 30 minutes
Compare that to
Sony's XM line of headphones has a battery life of
up to 30-40 hours with noise cancellation on, but can last up to 40-200 hours when noise cancellation is off. Full charging times vary but are generally around 3-3.5 hours, and a quick charge feature can provide several hours of playback from just a few minutes of charging. The exact battery life can be influenced by settings like noise cancellation, DSEE HX Auto, and the Equalizer, which will decrease available battery life
Also takes like under 1 hour to fully charge my battery so that's not even accurate. I also have the bose quiet comforts which also last a very long time and have better noise cancellation but I think the color is ugly.
They do not have better ANC. They’re directly comparable.
At least compared to QC35ii models from a few years ago. gen 2 airpod pro are the best airbuds I ever owned, sound and ANC wise, and my daily driver. They're kind of wonky with Windows machines. It used to work fine but at some point I had to start repairing with Windows after each time they connect to an iPhone, which sounds like something microshits did
they charge so fast in the case and you aren't supposed to have earbuds in literally all day without pause I don't think that good for the ear canal
windows thing is a great point, totally forgot that that is the worst part of using my airbud pro gen2s. Never been able to get them to work consistently there but everything else works too well
When I was mainly working off a macbook it was a no-brainer. The auto-device switching is nuts
airpods total weight: 42g
sony xm: atleast 5x that
im also considering which fits in my pocket better lol
Yeah I never considered how nice itd be to not have to select it from bluetooth options every time i wanted to use them until that. Thinking about it now I never even considered how much I hated doing that in the first place. It always felt like I'd need to select the thing and have to sit there and wait for a non-zero chance of it not working, and dealing with that if it happened. It was a terrible user experience
I thought it was pretty funny that I got the cheapest wireless earbuds with good reviews on amazon ($13) just for work use, and I've been pretty happy with them. The audio quality isn't great, but they're relatively comfortable for 4+ hours at a time, the battery hasn't died during any shift, and they do what I need. I was gonna upgrade to a pair worth a couple hundred dollars after they die, so I'm interested to see whats recommended.
Very uncommon for me to have a fit I like and I’ve tried high end ones too. But anirpods been good to me. Also if you plan on working out having a pair that’s made for it with water resist and the magnetic bit to tie is really comfy.
Most autistic qol thing I wish these earbuds had, multi Bluetooth support. It would be cool to interact with multiple devices like my steam deck and something else with music on a plane. I wouldn’t recommend airpods for android users
people seem to really like these. might be a good inbetween upgrade for ya since its so cheap.
an audiophile friend of mine said the sound quality is pretty indistinguishable from airpods from his experience and what his friends say
I own both and the noise cancelation on the nose is better hands down.
Interesting thing about the windows os you mentioned I noticed when I am watching yt videos and jumping around sometimes the bt connection just dies and my comp says it is connected but no sound comes out anymore so I need to go to my settings to disable and reenabke bt and it's back. Happens like once in a while but enough that I am not traumatized and jump around less freqently afraid it will disconnect. Yea I should look into why the fuck it is doing that and fix it lmao.
How often do you realistically carry around headphones or earbuds tho, if it's a lot then sure but I seldom leave my house so it's a non issue for me, the only downside is I think when I have video chat on I look like a clown with my headphones on while everyone else is using earbuds or speakers.
I own like 5 different headsets from Logitech, Sony, bose, etc... The best ones are the Sony and bose imo but Logitech is good for being able to swap between 3 different devices on bt. I used that a lot during covid when I had 2 jobs at the same time so I could swap between my different work laptops and my pc.
ANC earbuds can't perform equivalently for everyone. You have to try them for yourself. It's very possible your ear canals aren't the same size/shape as each other and you can't get the same fit I do with standard sizes.
Ive seen that carpet before. I know where you are.
