You brought up genocide like the goal of Russia was to genocide Ukraine
they literally stated that they want to erase Ukranian cultural identity (people who do not view themselves as Russian) and forcefully Russofy them

Plenty of Russian speaking ukranians see it that way and the difference is in nationality but ethnicity they are Russian speaking Slavs and identify almost exactly with western russia

No beyond that, my friend from Odessa for example speaks Russian, he knows Ukrainian but speaks Russian with friends family etc. even after the war
also it's kinda unfair to say this is true based on what those regions are like today, after all the pro-western people have been driven out or killed

them re-housing around 20,000 children from occupied territories all over Russia and sending them to these creepy indoctrination high-school "summer camp" things is also a form of genocide

Thereâs really not a fundamental difference between ukranians and Russians in any real sense outside of the border regions of Poland. Before the war the average person wouldnât even know the difference
maybe no one thing could be called genocide but when you add up every thing they are doing, plus what their stated intentions are, it's certainly an attempted genocide in the least. which is why I support sending the Ukrainians weapons to defend themselves. it's working.
