Ancient Egyptians spent a lot more time in the sun, and as a result were darker skin on average.

That's not very socratic method of you. Egyptians have higher sun capacity and you use sunscreen.

As we discussed before, a person's skin color function is only a variable based on their ethnicity - which is why you can find very light skinned and very dark skinned Egyptians, both close relatives.
