isn't it neat how one military is literally fracturing into infighting and factionalism before our very eyes (ON SOCIAL MEDIA TOO LMAOOO) and the other puts out a strong, united front and has top of the line gear and training (not to mention an endless supply of usd, the best currency) while the other has a rapidly depleting supply of russian monopoly money with which they pay their soliders? which soon could devalue to the point that those very soldiers are not getting paid a living wage by their state?
aha yeah russia is totally winning the war guys, it's so obvious
Iām not claiming anyone is winning or losing this war long term, but to call victory for Ukraine right now is just dumb, this war isnāt ending in the next 6 months unless some strange cease fire is reached which neither side has really given a thought to because the contested regions of eastern Ukraine are still being fought for. All Iām saying is Ukraine has not won the war yet and if you look at whatās actually happening and not just listen to the gossip of YouTubers and western news sources then youāll see it clearly, Russia is still attacking Ukraine on multiple fronts and making progress (albeit slow and costly progress) in eastern Ukraine
Until Ukraine is able to mount a successful counter offensive, take initiative and put Russia on the defense in eastern Ukraine this war is not ending, I donāt care what you think about the Russian rouble or what some ultra nationalist personality says about another guy, Russian troops are currently pushing and advancing into Ukrainian positions, killing Ukrainian defenders and securing and occupying territory in eastern Ukraine
Even if we go with the typical casualty ratio of 5:1 for attacking fortified positions Russia is still doing that and still having some modicum of success. Yes their army is significantly underperforming and has been since the start of the war but thereās enough troops or whatever the fuck they have there to continue to mount offensive operations for the time being.
If you said something more reasonable along the lines of āUkraine will be able to successfully stall the Russian advance or inflict enough casualties to significantly hinder the offensive capabilities of the Russian army and begin to take back eastern Ukraineā I would be more inclined to agree with you or at least say itās a reasonable observation.
alright well lets check back on this post in 2 months
But even that, I donāt think thatās going to happen anytime soon, maybe they can stall the Russian army out or make it extremely costly like bakhmut for every little city and town they want to take but this is something that probably happens in like another year or two of fighting and how will Ukraine be doing at that point
Prigozhin isn't just "some ultra nationalist guy" he's like one of the most influential people in the whole country, he has a ton of followers. He's openly talking about how he thinks the ministry of defense mined positions behind Bakhmut to kill his men if they retreated, threatened to kill the leader of the Chechen faction, this stuff is not just typical Prigozhin being Prigozhin. I've been following what he's saying, this is a huge escalation.
Sure, everyone is expecting the Ukrainian counter offensive letās see what happens
i think they will be able to re-take territory because they have literally, within the last 6 months, re-taken massive chunks of territory. it's something they have proven they can do..
meanwhile russia hasn't made gains in forever, and has open rebellion to deal with in several border provinces at the same time
