These passive aggressive throngs are legitimately what's killing this community, that and the new comedic humor that has come over since my absence involving a self-involved emphasis on the importance on each other.
Elaborating on my above post as it's quite wordy: my old teamspeak friends especially who spam threads and posts in a self-flagellating form of detachment from their own behavior and then old users from the site who relish in the site's own poor reputation or view it as some counter-culture ish trait of the site at large.
You have never hosted a worthwhile mafia game.
I have legitimately just represented the site on the most well known mafia tournament online. I am very aware now of the issues that are preventing this site from reaching any sort of potential, and am also aware of the issues that plague even such prestigious institutions like mafia universe. There is a huge gap in the market for legitimate mafia played as an e-sports here.
Is Osiris coming back to host this game?
He has until COB today - if he's still MIA after that I'll just run signals.
The panel could be composed of former NAMafia representatives for the Championship, such as myself
Another note is that we'll need people to stream it or at least an hour a day where a commentator reads through the posts and gives their thoughts. This highlights some of the more comedic moments that occur in mafia (especially our site which is more rogueish than others).

If you're wondering if people will give a shit or tune in, they probably won't initially. I plan on clipping certain parts of the stream though and uploading them to other platforms which will then start to garner attention from prospective new players. The aim is for the tournament to exponentially increase in players partaking and eventually pay for itself through crowd-funded prizepools (similar to dota).
I don't think Ian should be on the panel as he has a history of very poor judgment.
Where are these posts from?
I don't know how to stream but I actually think it would be better to have a player in the game do the streaming and add comedic commentary. What I've noticed with streamers/commentary is viewers need a protagonist to root for. They need to imagine themselves in the shoes of the person doing the streaming and imagine they are really playing the game. This is how more people will get into the game
I do think Nmagane is probably the funniest user for that. Not biased, but he's good at broadcasting humor. If we're going that route then it would be cool if all players who are "in the running" for the prizepool have to make some type of content
Honestly rage humor seems to be super relevant to today (feels like a 2010 throwback). I'm seeing this guy over my algorithm called "Speed" who when he plays games he always ends up screaming, so then it gets clipped as a reaction and goes viral. Would be interesting to see if we have any players that rage out a lot, @yns might be really funny for that type of humor.
The guy in question. I think it would seem authentic because if one of the players is competing for the prizepool and they get mislynched lets say or are victim to suboptimal reads, then it would probably cause legitimate anger that they could then play up.
The cool thing about mafia as an esport is that everyone is familiar with it as a forum game or at least as the video game equivalent (among us). We could even work that to our advantage and ship the tournament as sort of a vanilla imposter orientated game, makes it seem more analogue and strategic that way.
Kapten Robert would be super funny for raging out as well but I doubt he has interest in playing here.
Which player should be the Official Streamer for the game? (The streamer will be given an Innocent Child role in order to prevent any bias or possibility of impropriety.)

May be misreading you, but your tone seems insincere so just reiterating, if it seems farfetched or ridiculous to have a streamed mafia game, it's a huge disadvantage to other major mafia conglomerates (mafia universe) that they have no form of legitimate way for spectators to watch the game.
No I agree it is a good idea. Sorry the additional line about innocent child was just me thinking out loud about the way it affects balance. (Thinking as a host, now.) I think the streamer has to be given a town-cleared role. Since his thoughts will be so public (and no doubt have larger influence on the other members of the game), mafia aiming to manipulate this player will be a major mechanic of the game.
Oh yeah, that's definitely a huge conflict of interest regarding the streamer's role, it's why I wanted the streamer to be a more traditional broadcaster / commentator originally. I think the problem with this method is that the streamer is sort of inputted as a joke role, and it will make mathematical solves of the game all the more appealing as a playstyle (and mathematical based plays are not great for viewer retention, speaking anecdotally, I always zone out of games on other forums I browse when mathematics get involved).
So we could possibly add in another role like you said yeah, to whatever game setup we go with, and this user is more a broadcaster with still access to lynch votes and stuff. I don't know if that makes sense though, it could be cool if we get a ragestreamer to bet money on the game as well, or bet money on who he thinks mafia are, possibly the stream could even revolve around a selected set of users who have pooled money in (whether we fake this or make it real is to be decided). So basically a lot of the commentary revolves around them discussing their predictions and getting angry at players and raging due to them misplaying and thus the streamers losing money. There could also be a villager player like you said that can be controlled by a random member of the audience but I don't have time to explain that one and it would take high conceptual programming knowledge to work out.
However I'm not expecting other users to invest any of their finances until they see a working proof of concept that mafia with a prizepool will draw in and retain users.
