TBF he was always insanely self-aggrandizing and I think that is in some ways a trait of people who do exceptional things and was necessary for him to release his early work
And there's an argument to be made that just celebrity on its own is enough to really send people like this off the deep end - that was the topic of his recent albums
But I wouldn't necessarily disagree if u think that stuff played a role
