It all comes down to parents and if they pay attention and guide you. Teachers in most cases won't change anyone's trajectory.

Actually surprised to see they did pass a law banning consideration of race in college admissions back in 1996. I would be curious to see if it actually works or not or if colleges just get around it by considering “other factors” in the admissions process.

You know what college campuses are like in cali dude. Pretty sure they aren't trying to get around it. Don't see why they would give a fuck without having to report for affirmative action. I went to a cheap cal state that brags about it's diversity but the way they get to say they are diverse is just by accepting more students in general, not meeting quotas.

So yeah, cali college campuses are extra asian.

another thing the FEDGOV has introduced is like "hispanic institutions", so if 30% of your undergraduate pool is hispanic, you get more fedgov funding. As a result, they've looked at the demographics of the underlying high school and putting the finger of the scale at that level.
