Yes, this article and post are intentionaly making hasty conclusions. No where in the study do the researchers make the claim they found that “covid-19 increased a persons risk of developing anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders”. They make the statement that mental health disorders have risen, and that their hypothesis is it’s related to COVID based on the compelling statistics they observed. Period, nothing else. That is because it’s a well known fact you cannot claim causation with a purely observational study, it must be experimental.
This is a click-bait post, linking a click-bait article, from a study that was done very well but taken out of context by ignorant people. Look up what a “confounding variable” is
