I'm just too autistic to inherit their behaviors maybe
Maybe it's because I grew up on d2jsp and thehaloforum
up until really recently, same
Bro your political views are quite literally in lock step with the hive mind of Reddit
is there any subreddits that you thought didn't fall into the smug nerd echo chamber category
Do you read buttcoin jdance you would have fun shitting on those kids
the porn ones
also i dont really have a particularly curated experience i just scroll thru /r/popular mindlessly looking for amusement
Porn subs got delisted from /r/all
Found myself doing that less after that
Yeah that would certainly pervert your view of redditors as a whole
Wonder if iaafr and I have ever cranked our hogs to the same reddit post
Reddit is truly a spectacle of a bunch of mediocre nerds that are passionate about a subject but not actually good enough at said subject to be qualified to give out advice on it or have a valid opinion on a subject yet they do it anyways. The video game subreddits are a perfect example of this shit, I go on /r/valorant sometimes because I’ve been grinding ranked games and the subreddit is filled with low rank shitters giving out bad advice to each other because they think it’s correct because they’ve been told by other redditors it is correct
/r/cryptocurrency nerds have literally no idea what's going on
The csgo subreddit was the same thing
There's a number of subreddits where there is a number of takes from people who seem experienced as hell in what they do but they aren't common and you have to look for them because it won't be the top voted post of any thread. It's still worth it to read those posts though
fairly sure none of the "investing" or trading subreddits do
actually i struggle to think of a single subreddit where ppl think they know whats going on, more often than not actually do
even /r/geopolitics that was supposed to be good is still just mediocre idk
Idk you just learn to spot those posts and ignore them pretty quickly
Bogleheads is okay
More of a religion though
just the fact that theyre all normies and that the average player isn't very good would lead to that, yeah. But that's videogame subreddits or true of most 'popular subreddits'. Niche subreddits more tied to more real world shit are way better in this regard
Wallstbets was actually really really really good up until the GME thing turned it into one giant meme full of straight ■■■■■■■■ like actual ■■■■■■■■ I remember going on Wsb in 2015 and like people would joke around about ■■■■■■■■ shit and doing ■■■■■■■■ shit but there were a decent amount of people who actually knew what was going on
