I remember hearing some time ago that China has been using ML to identify VPNs, if it is true they're certainly aware of who's using them but don't see a problem if it leads to more wealth in the country
my dad who is currently working for a chinese company got temp banned from wechat for sharing an article that questioned chinas covid response and had like a panic attack over it because his wechat access was key for his work lmao

I don’t know it’s hard to say these are all like terrible things like yeah you can’t like very openly criticize the government there but also whatever system they have appears to be working well for most if not all of the population
Maybe I am sheltered but I feel as if there is very literal conspiracy going on
Even in the US you have large tech companies essentially subsidized by the US government and they have clear political biases
