mfuckers out here thinking monarchs control the entire government. in most cases they were spoiled but trained regular humans who had the power to cut through red tape in occasional matters, sometimes not even that as the clergy or landed nobility could embarrass them into submission and keep things at a status quo. it's really not that different from modern days but instead of bloodlines and birthrights people win their stations in government through ambition and scratching each others backs
I can understand the idea that, because of past discrimination and injustices, black people were put into disadvantaged positions within society and this began a cycle of poverty, violence, and other societal issues that continues on today, what I don’t agree with is that white people continue to actively put black people down, or continue to operate in a way that excludes them from greater society, I think those issues are more related to economic inequality than racial inequality.
I did not feel particularly advantaged over my peers growing up and did not benefit from any type of racial inequality that is claimed by others is my point
I did feel disadvantaged compared to people with “rich” families (aka middle class/upper middle class) people with two parents, people without serious family issues, etc
Individual white people may not actively discriminate in ways they used to but society continues to put out laws and act in ways that discriminate against black people and white people run society so guess who we gonna blame
I’ve never spoken about poor white people only about my personal experience and interactions with black people and others living in a ghetto in north Las Vegas
