I figured it out. I like muslim larping because it allows me to escape from earnest posting. We have figured it ouy alhamdulilah
And as I said to yns itâs not my job to explain these things when there are bodies of work that are a google search away
It feels good to talk about it in a selfish way and make myself laugh when otherwise I have to accept that someone brought up slavery being 300 years ago so so what and another person brought up hitler xd
"it's not my job to explain/educate" is like
at this point a caricatured stock phrase of college educated idpol enthusiasts
Ye very cognizant of that read above post
Well when you slip in and out of societal critique and interpersonal language, it gives a mixed message. It is a "me and you" conversation when convenient, and a "this group and that group" conversation when convenient.
I know people hop in and out but I did post my initial post advising folks that it wasnât meant to be interacted with
Idk bro none of this shit about systemic racism matches my personal experience so I donât believe in it
I wouldn't give a shit and join in on all the fuck whitey rhetoric in earnest but I saw this story about a guy who killed a white man and admitted it was for no reason other than he just saw the white dude and was sick of racism. And so many people were like "well he has a point". I think maybe it needs to get dialed back a bit if even a handful of people have started to think that is acceptable to express in public.
Also Iâm not making a societal critique.
This shit is facts. There are laws that target and harm black folks more than anyone else
There are policies (housing loans etc) that give negative weight to people for the color of their skin alone
Redlining
Infrastructure
Medical history
The list goes on
Slippery af
Killing someone is wrong hard stop like lol what even is this anecdote
I deny zero of those things and it is indeed systemic racism and produces racial inequality.
Just losing me with lazy blame white people shit
Thereâs people that will think anything anywhere, it doesnât reflect negatively or positively on the actual facts or issues
we just gotta stick to tautologies to avoid overgeneralization
blame the people who deserve blame and are culpable
dont blame the people tangentially related to them (half blame points for enabling/looking the other way)
And I get lost when people say slavery was 300 years ago
Yeah no shit. And isnt it wild that several people thought it was okay to say the murderer has a point?
If we see a white supremacist do some racist shit and even a handful of people publically say they have a point, we would consider it evidence of something. Probably that rhetoric is making people feel comfortable expressing these things in public and that is a problem
There are sitting senators who were adults under jim crow, had parents that were against integration, and so on
there is no discussion
âsystemic racism existsâ
thatâs it, thatâs literally the whole discussion
anyone saying otherwise is just objectively wrong
