i like the idea of the ring passing around during the night and being useful for protection
but we need a lore reasoning for why frodo is mafia. my best idea is wormtongue ;_)

my idea is like

everyone has a assigned character, or we can pick characters before hand. either way.
it's roleplay.
each character is given a side mission but they dont need to complete it to win
example:
Sam: ensure Frodo makes it to final day
Gollum: hold ring twice
etc.

i'd also say merry/pippin at fluff characters and pretty similar so including them is meh. rather more fun characters like treebeard or gollum even tho they arent technically in the fellowsihp
