Sick

I have double posted due to internet issues before, but never triple posted.

I don't really think there's "enough": there is some balance where the core idea is A) simple enough to be actually executed B) complex enough that if execution of some portion fails, you still actually have a game. Outside of execution of the idea, I don't know if it's "cognitively taxing" enough to actually have "gamer" people play it.

The gulf between the "bejeweled player" and the average "gamer" is extremely wide. I don't even know why people play bejeweled. I can understand why people would play a bad platformer. I can't understand why people would play bejeweled at all. If the execution of this idea fails, do I even still have a bad bejeweled game? In some sense, I don't even know what makes a bejeweled game attractive?

Someone (@matticus) should hook nmaGane up with VC funny-money if he builds a prototype. I don't really have any interest. I have another project I'd like to finish before the end of June. I don't have the mental discipline to work/learn some GUI Unity garbage to actually produce something reasonable.

but overall I don't think there's anything there: the target is extremely small and very hard to hit in my mind.

Easiest way to increase cognitive load in simple arcade games is to increase gameplay pace by 10x and introduce a combo mechanic

Why do people play super auto pets?

Because they're gay

I hate to say it but @You_lose_i_win is correct here. People play Bejeweled because it's a mindless game that makes flashing noises and numbers when you get combos, it's the same reason people play Auto Battlers, or slot machines.
That being said, most average "Gamers" probably have something like that to fill their time, it's just that Bejeweled games are culturally unlikeable due to the popularity of stuff like Candy Crush and so on. So instead they fill their "non-main-gaming" time with stuff like Genshin Impact or Hearthstone, mindlessly mashing or dragging cards.

What is that?

Now, why do "Gamers" play this?

i'd call your behaviour culturally unlikable.

exactly what i mean.

He'd do best with an angel investor. A real VC would never invest in a game

Which engine is better

  • UE
  • I write my own engine

While I do use Unity, I definitely am on the side of Personal Programming.

Need to hire professional sound designers.
