Are you making illegal moves? I was trying to avoid it as much as i can even though i didnt disable it.
I can drop it to like the second~ bottom row without illegal moves before I get monster griefed.
frankly if the monsters move however they want I don't think you ever get boardlocked.
Got it to the bottom with no illegal moves.

I got wrecked this time.

I think I'm board locked; I think if the monsters can't push the staircase up and they have some stochastic movement continually (i.e, they just don't sit there after reaching their endpoint) you don't ever get boardlocked. It might take 5 min~ max to drop the thing to the bottom.
