on one hand, it's a product! on another it's not!!!
The game is on the tier of Sonichu and I'm just waiting for the next AGDG thread to be made before I post it for feedback.
Not true, I literally said that I care and was looking for public feedback. That doesn't mean that I consider myself "professional", I can care about my work without holding myself to arbitrary standards.
Enjoying something doesn't make it a joke - I can care about my work and find it fun at the same time.
if your game is going to be viewed by children the standards are higher - children aren't capable of value discernment.
I don't see what you get with this hyperbole, we have talked in private about this a lot and the way you act here is just bizarre.
What are you trying to make fun of it for exactly? My Art skills? Or the Gameplay? You still haven't provided any issue related to the actual product itself, but just personal insults based on your idea of my "feelings".
oh I don't think my personal opinion is worth much so I'm waiting for the next AGDG thread to post it.
However, I would never buy this on Steam. Might just be me, but this seems better as a mobile game due to its gameplay. Also, lacking any form of meta-progression (I think) really limits the potential.
Of course, it's a candy crush game - Did you expect more?
Metaprogression is referring to vampire-survivors type of out of game grinding and currency, which is predatory and I aim to avoid as much as possible.
If you want to talk about ethics, I think I'm in the right here.
I should hold myself to a higher standard: put my game on Mobile with Lootboxes.
you're fundamentally wrong because I have a wikipedia page that proves my assertions.
epic
swindling your users is obviously a high-dimensional space -> selling bad products, mindraping psychiatrist swindling them.
you shouldn't be producing garbage and then selling it to people. the game is bad and you've admitted that no one should ever buy it.
You are right about one thing: neither of us can objectively judge the quality of the product itself.
the real question here really isn't whether the game is good: it's whether it's morally acceptable to sell it to someone, and i think it's a very obvious no.
No, I said that I wouldn't buy it - because I don't buy many games at all.
moreover to sell it to a random person who you will never interact with ever again; that's the key demographic.
it's wrong to sell this to unsuspecting people, it'd probably be fine as "pay as you want" on itch.io but $3 on twitch is just predatory.
Selling slightly flawed handcrafted baskets over factory produced perfect products, is morally acceptable.
But I'm doing everything I can to improve the game as much as possible before release - and I can push back release as long as I can.
They wouldn't be as "unsuspecting" as you think considering there is a video and a lot of content showing exactly what the game is.
There's no false advertisement at hand here.
