I do believe that I am a better core player than a support player (proven by these winrates and impact scores), I even used to be a mid only player at some point.
But for better or for worse: most of our group tend to prefer playing core, so I don't mind playing more support these days.
Safelane carry is the easiest role in the game, I'd rather let Chris or Toprak play that than have them "support", lose the lane, and spend the next 25 minutes doing nothing. No offense to them.
If anything Toprak is the insecure one if he wants me to play Safelane or Mid over him (I have played mid 3 times in the last 2 days - crushing every game, even one was on Meepo), because he doesn't want to be held responsible when he ends up getting 5-razed mid.

5 is such a pointless nothingburger role that playing it doesn't even count as actually playing the game.
4 is the most skill based position in the game
i think 2 and 4 are the hardest to play. 3 has changed a lot since i last played so it could be different now tho
Different roles have different points where they need to make impact & it can vary from game to game & situation to situation
For example in solo ranked having a really solid impact is (or was when I played) probably easiest from 3 position if you were skilled because at that time it involved understanding how to control tempo of a game & produce value even when it was hard to find farm. So it was the most skill-dependent role but also one where if you were skilled it was easy to control the game
In a game with your friends 1 is probably easiest if you're low-skill just because you have other people making a bunch of shit happen on the map while you afk and hit jungle creeps and then you come out of the woods with 3 items in time to hit rax & get to feel like you did something
But that's in a stack, not in a stack it's not necessarily an easy role to win with
