Tbh I haven't learned as much about market trends as I wanted to I've just paid attention to tech and biz
Beat earnings in this market = save haven for investors
Miss earnings and you drop 30% in a day
A few handpicked companies are literally stopping the nasdaq from being -40% right now
I don't have a problem with it people have been ignoring p/e and other shit for a while and overvaluing stocks based on how much the public likes their product/biz. The correction seemed needed
Yeah it was definitely needed. The question is whether a recession is needed or will one happen.
Oh it's needed
It will happen
Have you seen the bond market? Shit fucking imploded. There are something like 3 trillion dollars in BBB loans that, if are downgraded, must be sold by the financial instutions that hold them due to their policies
No lmao
Bailout v2 inc
Bonds are typically inversely correlated with equities, but bonds are down just as bad and there seems to be no safe haven. Even gold is shitting the bed compared to expectations
Also fidelity just launched its first of its kind bitcoin 401ks and iras
I honestly think crypto comes out as the winner this cycle
Wdym by that
It will inevitably drop harder than the stock market when the recession occurs
It will never be a true winner until there's some consumer products that people enjoy. Until then it's volatile predicated on stocks and subject to a lot of manipulation lol
Bitcoin/'Cryptos value reflects stocks but I think it also represents public interest in crypto. I think I've noticed that when we're in a v bullish market there's a lot of media plugs about the future value and investment opportunity. In a bearish market we focus on the winners and generally discount crypto as a whole because it's volatile and it's impact isn't seen firsthand by most of these institutions and retail guys. Cryptos just somewhere between monopoly money and gambling to them
When you don't know how the markets going to go why invest in a coin whose value might drop significantly instead of exchanging for some Fiat that will hold it's value for the inevitable downturn like Francs
8 countries have now adopted a spot bitcoin etf. There is increasing pressure on the sec to approve one. More and more financial institutions are adopting crypto, something like 20 different funds hold at least 1 billion dollars, and the amount of funds is only going to increase
Financial institutions are literally threatening to sue the sec over the continuous spot etf declines
My guess is that this is a short term correlation
