All I know is investopedia is like how I feel trying to use Wikipedia to bridge a lack of understanding in something, it's fine and dandy but it's always too low level of a view or trying too hard to be informative to actually inform you of anything outside of like defining shit
https://www.reddit.com/r/StockMarket/comments/o0ehpm/nio_shows_tremendous_potential_dd
Example of what I'm talking about
I guess in that regard I'd even recommend looking at reddit posts on cryptocurrency cuz you're just gonna osmose more info as to that shit than thinking you're better than everyone and choosing not to get into the weeds. As long as you're wary of shills and looking for supplementary info on what you read whether its replies or googles you'll learn a lot more than just trading it or reading some investopedia articles
Wall st bets honestly used to be good for that shit because you could go into the comments of posts and read about what people were saying and they would talk about shit you could look up later on investopedia especially related to options but then the GME shit happened and itâs been garbage. Actually Iâm talking about WSB in like 2016 itâs been pretty dog shit for awhile
A successful trader tho lmao I know a guy who basically just took stock tips from the motley fool and his portfolio gained literally 90-100% in 2020. I wish I was joking
Bro just throw money into companies you like, avoid meme stock hype, if you want to try like âactive tradingâ then just put money into options if you donât have the 20k to avoid PDT violations, if you have 20k to blow then go ahead and try day trading
Itâs unfortunate, if you were doing this 2 years ago when it was more interesting and less normies were involved I could just say âgo on wsbâ but that has been completely ruined by normies and children
Try /SMG/ on /biz/ not sure if itâs actually good but you might avoid normies
yeah i was browsing back then too, there's still peopel doing stuff like that but its never on wsb and always on niche stuff. peopel dont really bother doing it in designated shill zones like a specific currency's comments but in general i see a lot of it in a few good places and that's what im recommending
it is sad because im probably wrong and the true answer is like browsing bogleheads's forum but i dont really feel compelled to take that step yet, feel pretty good with the few subreddits im looking at and i am just a casual learner afterall
and for crypto probably https://bitcointalk.org/ but once again dont really care to browse other trad forums besides this 1
i have regretted every time i ever looked on biz or 4chan in general ever since i started doing adult shit and it's even harder to use if you're someone like faz and didnt once use that site yourself
for crypto just stick to the xmr general on biz, the couple different xmr IRC channels and never put money in shit coins
yeah maybe the generals are better, i should look at those
no, you should just look at the xmr general the rest of the board is pajeets trying to scam you with their pump and dump schemes
yeah but what if i wanna learn about not monero
why would you want to do that?
im interested in doing stuff outside of transacting with seedy people
the best thing about 4chan is it keeps the normies away
bleh
normie-tier response
