The only thing that is true is the amount of hype that correlates to a coin via the internet.
The more people talk about something the more it grows, when something gets too much attention it becomes too good to be true (dogecoin).

he is saying that the only projects worth investing in are the ones that arent yet mainstream. this is false. the death rate for a coin after 4 years is about 95%. investing in btc/eth has historically been by far the safest. most investments in alts end up going to zero.

Yeah I just meant those are the real things to be hype over. All of them have some degree of artificial hype behind it, and BTC might not have innovation in it's future but what it's provided (and being super first to market) is enough to say it has real hype and thus strong consumer interest, so high price floor potential etc.
Similar with eth. And even Algo, polka or whatever. Real tech and some actual applicable use case that's different or better than competitors means more real hype and speculative interest to bank on.
